What About Questionable Things?
Many times you may be puzzled about things in which the Bible does not clearly name as being wrong. You ask yourswlf, "Should I do this?"
When you are faced with situations, just be honest with yourself, and trust you are making the right decision by asking youreslf:IS IT FOR THE GLORY OF GOD? I Corinthians 10:31 In all of your actions and plans of life...whatever your schemes, your desires, your doings - let all be done to the glory od God. WILL IT CAUSE OTHERS TO STUMBLE? I Corinthians 8:13 Paul had no problem eating meat offered to idols, but if it offended anyone, he would not eat the meat.DO OTHERS HAVE A CONSCIENCE AGAINIST IT? Romans 14:15 The Gentiles & the Jews had different views about the meat (clean or unclean). We do not want to grieve a Christian brother.WILL IT LEAD TO SIN? James 1:13-15 We can commit sin by complaining, by murmuring, by yeilding to sin. Man is drawn away by his own lust.WHAT AFFECT WILL IT HAVE UPON THE UNSAVED? Titus 2:7-8 Not merely teaching others, but showing them by example, how they ought to live... a pattern to follow.DOES IT HARM MY BODY? I Corinthians 6:19 The Holy Spirit dwells in us, our bodies are His Temple. Our bodies should not be defiled and polluted by sin, and we shouldn't put anything in our bodies that will destroy our health.WILL IT HINDER MY TESTIMONY? Matthew 5:16, I Timothy 4:12 Let your holy life, your pure conversation, and your faithful instruction be everywhere seen and known.
Be honest, and ask God to direct every step you take, and praise Him for every breath He gives us. Practice prayer and self examination to make the heart better.
