Associate Pastor, Rev. Danny

O’Neal, has been with us since early 2001. Bro. Danny is a graduate of the Free Will Baptist Bible College, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Bible, and a Minor in Youth Ministries. He is currently pastor to about 75 teenagers, and also oversees both our Bus Ministry and Children’s Church, while pursuing his Masters in Religious Studies. He has worked in Youth Ministries for 13 years, previously ministering at Providence FWB Church in Hampton, VA.

Marshall Lee

Boney III joined the Virginia Beach Free Will Baptist staff in the fall of 2009 as an assistant pastor, primarily serving in areas of Military Ministry, Day School and Ministry Leadership.

Born in Philadelphia, PA where he lived until the age of 11, his family moved abroad as U.S. Army dependants and settled in Lawton, Ok. At the tender age of 14 he received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior while attending Crystal Hills Free Will Baptist Church as a bus kid, crediting the diligence of Minister Mike Turner who befriended his family under the pastoral care of Dr. Curtis Linton.

He joined the U.S. Navy age of 19 was assigned to various duty stations during his 22 years of service, where he served as a Lay Leader to Chaplains wherever he was assigned. In 1996 the Navy brought the Boney family to the Tidewater area, where they became members of Virginia Beach Free Will Baptist Church under senior pastor Dr. J.D. Norris Jr. In August 1996 Marshall began to hear God’s call on his life. The summer of 1999 Marshall became an ordained deacon and was licensed and ordained a Minister of the Gospel in July 2006! Marshall retired as a Chief Petty Officer in August, 2009.

Marshall has attended Liberty University and Free Will Baptist Bible College Online and is currently studying at Regent University for his degree in Christian Ministry and Master’s in Counseling. Marshall and his wife, Tiffany, have been married since 1989, and have three daughters, Tanisha (a Nursing Student), Jasmine (enrolled at Liberty Univ) and Alexis of whom they are blessed to have.

Dr. J. D. Norris, Jr. had succes

sful pastorates in five states prior to becoming the pastor of Virginia Beach FWB Church. A native of North Carolina, he is a graduate of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation Tool and Die Program, Raleigh, NC, and the Free Will Baptist Bible College, Nashville, TN. In addition, he holds an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Gulf Coast Seminary in Panama City, FL. He received his License to Preach in 1968.

Pastor Norris has been pastoring for over 40 years, and was a member of the Home Mission Board of the National Association of Free Will Baptist for 12 years. He has been used of God across the country as a Home Missionary, an evangelist in local church meetings, area-wide mission conferences, Bible conferences, and crusades. He is known for his “old time” preaching style, reaching out with God’s message for today.

Since becoming the pastor at Virginia Beach FWB Church in 1996, church attendance has grown from a hand full of people to a membership of over 500. The church completed the building of a new worship center in September of 2001. We are excited about the growth we have experienced and look forward to what God has in store for us in the future.

Pastor Norris and his wife, Beverly, have been happily married for 50 years. They have 4 children and 10 grandchildren, plus 1 waiting for them in heaven.
