How do I put in an absence on Frontline? ›

You can create a new absence through one of two options within the app. Press Create Absence directly from the home page (as seen in the first image) or access the Menu and select the Absences option. From this page, you can press the "+" button or press Create Absence (as seen in the second image).

Examples of absence management could include: Clearly outlining your company's policies on sick days, long-term illnesses, vacation, and personal emergencies in an employee handbook.

Time & Attendance provides multiple options for employees or administrators to enter time. Employees can clock in via a kiosk, directly from their computer, or using contactless options such as the Frontline mobile app.

Absence management can include a range of strategies and interventions, such as training and educating employees, providing flexible work arrangements, offering health and wellness programs, and establishing compliant disciplinary policies for excessive or unauthorized absences.

Select the "Add Time" option in the top right corner of the Timesheets section. This opens a Time Entry page. The system automatically lists the date, work detail, and entries for your in/out times, which can be adjusted, as needed. Press Edit to make changes and then press Add to include the new time.

The substitute placement feature will attempt to contact these substitutes first when you create an absence. To access the "Preferred Substitutes" page, click the Account option in the side navigation. Adding Substitutes To add a substitute, click the Add Substitute(s) button.

Time and attendance management covers all practices that are associated with employee time and attendance. In essence, this is about tracking and monitoring employee hours, such as when they start work, when they end work, how long the breaks are, sick days, and time off.

One example of time management might be writing a “to-do list” in the morning (on a piece of paper). It might sound old-fashioned; but getting our priorities straight at the start of the day is an efficient way to begin every morning. Then cross things off the list as you do them.

Viewing Leave Balances

The "Absence" page provides an overview of balances and other various absence details. If your district has provided these features, you can potentially view Paid Time Off (PTO), absences used during the past year, and a collection of any upcoming, past, or denied absences.

The system is designed to work exactly the way you want it to, so you have flexible options for filling jobs: Subs proactively looking for jobs can find and accept them online. You use the tools in the system to set your preferences and requirements for each assignment, and a qualified substitute fills the vacancy.

The main difference between that and attendance management is that employees are supposed to come to work. So, while managing attendance is about maintaining the natural order of things, absence management is concerned with the exceptions. Namely, when an employee hasn't come to work and why.

Day One Absence Management

Provide absence and return-to-work notification reports to the employer/manager. Provide anonymous management information on the absences reported to help understand the main issues. Act as a deterrent to stop colleagues from reporting non-genuine reasons for absence​

Call Options for Absence Management

To call, dial 1-800-942-3767. You will be prompted to enter your ID number (followed by the # sign), then your PIN number (followed by the # sign).

Log in to Workday, select the Time Off icon, or go to Actions in your profile, and find Time and Leave. Select Request Time off, select the Type you need from the list, and fill in the details. Click Submit.

Future absences can be cancelled in Frontline. If you would like to cancel an absence, you can do this on the scheduled absence page or on the "Absence Details" page. On either page, simply click the “delete” button to cancel the absence.

Editing Absences

If you need to edit a future absence that has already been approved, you must CANCEL the absence and then resubmit the absence with the edited details. Q: Can I edit/cancel a past absence? A: No, you may not edit a past absence on your own.
